Delta

Delta changes reality. Engineers. Designers. Builders. They don't debate. They produce.

Mission

Every meeting should end with code.

Delta is the engine room. Flutter, backend, AI, infrastructure, firmware — Delta ships. They take validated insights from Echo, strategic context from Atlas, and turn them into working products. Delta's entire identity is organized around cycle time.

Every meeting should end with code.

Delta's operating principle. If you left without producing something, the meeting failed.

What we measure

Intrapersonal

Individual velocity — how fast does a single engineer deliver value?

How: Cycle time per task (idea → merged PR → deployed), not lines of code or story pointsWhere: GitHub Insights, CI/CD pipeline metrics, deployment frequency dashboardWhen: Per PR; reviewed weekly per engineerSignal: Median cycle time exceeds team average by >2x for more than 2 weeksInstrument: GitHub API, CI/CD telemetry, DORA metrics dashboard

Flow state — how much uninterrupted time for deep work?

How: Calendar audit: hours of contiguous coding time per day, interruption count, context-switch frequencyWhere: Personal time audit, team chat async log analysisWhen: Weekly self-assessment; monthly team pattern reviewSignal: Average daily deep work drops below 3 hoursInstrument: Calendar analysis script, personal time tracker (optional), async communication audit
Interpersonal

Collaboration efficiency — how well do paired or grouped tasks flow?

How: PR review turnaround time, merge conflict frequency, cross-dependency wait timeWhere: GitHub PR dashboard, team health monitorWhen: Per PR; reviewed weeklySignal: Median PR review time >24 hours; merge conflicts occur in >20% of PRsInstrument: GitHub analytics, code review metrics dashboard
Collective

System health — is the codebase getting better or worse?

How: Tech debt ratio, test coverage trend, build time trend, dependency freshnessWhere: Forge's platform health dashboard, CI/CD pipelineWhen: Tracked continuously; reviewed in monthly platform review with ForgeSignal: Build time increases >20% in a month, or test coverage drops below 70%Instrument: SonarQube, CodeClimate, build time tracker, dependency freshness report

Delivery predictability — does Delta ship what it commits to, when it commits to it?

How: Sprint completion rate, milestone accuracy, scope-change frequencyWhere: Sprint tracking board, quarterly planning documentWhen: Per sprint; reviewed quarterlySignal: Sprint completion rate drops below 70% for 2 consecutive sprintsInstrument: Sprint tracking tool, milestone burndown charts

Rhythms

Standup (async)

Daily

Written async standup in Slack: "What I shipped yesterday, what I'm shipping today, what's blocking me." No verbal standups.

Removes the 30-minute meeting that could be a 2-minute message.

Demo day

Weekly

Every Friday, 30 minutes. Every team member demos something — a feature, a fix, a refactor, a failed experiment.

Shipping is the default. If you didn't ship this week, why not?

Sprint planning

Every 2 weeks

60 minutes. Atlas presents strategic context. Echo presents user insights. Delta commits to specific deliverables.

Connects the information pipeline to the build pipeline.

Retrospective

Every 2 weeks

45 minutes. What worked? What didn't? What will we change?

Continuous improvement is not optional.

Hack day

Monthly

One Friday per month — no sprint work. Build whatever you want, with whoever you want.

Preserves the exploratory energy that sprints can extinguish.

Tools & artifacts

CI/CD pipeline

automation

Fully automated build-test-deploy pipeline. Every PR is deployable. Every merge to main ships.

DeltaForgeOrbit

Feature flags

platform

Configuration-driven feature rollout. Any feature can be toggled, percentage-rolled, or A/B tested without a deploy.

DeltaPulseOrbit

DORA metrics dashboard

platform

Real-time dashboard of deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and time to restore.

DeltaForgeOrbit

Runbook

document

Every service has a runbook: how to deploy, how to debug, how to roll back, who to call at 3 AM.

DeltaOrbit

Architecture decision record (ADR)

document

Every significant architectural decision is documented: context, options, decision, consequences.

DeltaForge

Responsibilities

  • Flutter and mobile development
  • Backend and API development
  • AI/ML integration
  • Infrastructure provisioning
  • Firmware and embedded systems
  • Feature implementation and shipping
  • Code review and testing
  • Performance optimization

Deliverables

Working software in production
Feature releases
APIs and SDKs
Hardware prototypes and firmware
Release notes and changelogs
Test suites and coverage reports
Success metric

Cycle time — from validated brief to production.

Relationships

How Delta connects to every other tribe — what flows, when, and through what ritual.

Receives
Collaborates
The tribe under strain

To prove worth through visible momentum, competence, and shipped reality.

This is a protective pattern, not a verdict. It describes what can happen when the tribe's gift is driven by fear, anger, grief, scarcity, or status.

What activates it

Progress is slowed by ambiguity, consultation, changing requirements, or people Delta sees as spectators.

How it can appear

Delta can become angry, impatient, contemptuous of discussion, or force a decision simply to restore motion.

What it costs

People and risks get steamrolled; speed creates rework, broken trust, and quiet resistance downstream.

The integrated gift

Decisive action that includes an explicit pause for consent, risk, and the knowledge held by slower voices.
